Round Table:
Due to our quest speaker today, Peter Mannella, we will not have round table.

Peter thanked Pat Bailey and added that the lower Hudson Valley is very sorry to have “lost” Pat Bailey. She is such an asset wherever she is! CNYAPT is very fortunate to have her here now and NYAPT is fortunate to have her as president!

Peter thanks everyone for inviting him to our meeting today. He is on the road a lot trying to visit all 14 Chapters for one of their meetings. If anyone is ever in Albany - stop in and see the new NYAPT headquarters. They moved in on August 2, 2004. The goal for the past year has been to become an efficient corporation with a full “fledged”
Business Board of Directors. They have accomplished both. They now know where we stand financially. They have been slowly rebuilding the finances and we are now slightly in the black. Things are not perfect yet, but are improving all the time. The By-Laws are being revised and have gone from 7 pages to 14 pages. We will be voting on the new by-laws in July.

Professional development is a “key” part of the program now. A series of brand new training programs are being offered. They are also looking to build a mentoring program with the involvement of SED, DOT, DMV.

Most have noticed by now the July conference has been shortened by a day. There will now be workshops on Sunday. The conference will end on Wednesday 12:30 - 1:00. The NAPT courses will be offered Wednesday p.m. and Thursday for those who want to stay.
There will be no tent for the trade show this year. It will held in the ballroom at the Marriot. 40% of the booths are already sold and so, far 4 of the sponsoring vendors will be putting on workshops of their own during the vendor show.
A complete conference schedule is posted on the NYAPT web site.
