  2. The chapter voted “YES” to helping with “a day” at the State Fair this year if other Chapters pitched in to help with the other days.

New Business:

  1. D.M.V.  has made some changes without informing the individuals involved.  They are available on the D.M.V website (hard to find … the 9/27/05 news release).  Karen Doucette has a copy if needed.  Next meeting we’ll try to bring copies for everyone so we are all on the same page.
  2. Shock Absorber is looking for “Fuel Stories” … anything with something to share please send it in.
  3. Several people still haven’t paid conference dues … credit cards will be charged.  Please get them taken care of ASAP!
  4. Local Chapter dues are due to Karen Doucette by 12/1/05.  Any questions please give her a call or email.
  5. Safety Camp 2006 … Chuck Paquette gave us all a hand out with an outline of the upcoming event (June 23-26 & Hobart College).  Instructor teams are needed!  Call or email Chuck if you are interested in teaching.
  6. Ira Judd sent an Email to Dave asking what Districts deal with discretionary riders and what there policies are.  Baldwinsville is the only District we knew of that had that issue.
  7. Shelia from Cortland is having a difficult tine getting “regular” drivers to do trips.  Looking for any suggestions & ideas that might help get things back on track.
  8. Jim Ellis handed out an invitation from P.T.S.I. to each District  … inviting us to send “a” driver that would be willing to share concerns and suggestions of being a school bus driver.  It will be held at P.T.S.I. 11/30/05 10:00 am until Noon.  Please RSVP Jim Ellis or give P.T.S.I. a call.
  9. Bob Peters is bringing the School Bus Watch Program to his district.  The program is recognized nation wide and was developed through The American Trucker Administration.
  10. Mike Janisch would like our local chapter to consider giving a Scholarship.  The topic was tabled until next meeting so that a rough guide line could be presented (the amount, the criteria – same as state???).
  11. Karen Doucette made a motion to pay Jennifer her yearly fee of $400.00 to continue maintaining the Chapters website, Chuck Paquette second it.
  12. Mike Janisch wanted to know how other districts filled a Dispatchers “chair” when they are out sick.  Do you pull from drivers … other employees in the District .. or just go without.

(new Transportation Supervisor at Oswego), Rich Rogers seconded it.  Darrell Haggerman made a motion for membership for Bruce Walters (Transportation Supervisor for Jordon Elbridge), Mike Janisch second it.
